Dr. E. Eugene Bain III’s extensive training as not only a dermatologist, but also as a fellowship trained Mohs micrographic surgeon, makes him uniquely qualified to expertly care for your dermatologic, skin cancer and cosmetic needs.
As a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology, Dr. Bain passed his board certification examination in 2013 following completion of his dermatology residency training at the University of Alabama in Birmingham. After residency he completed a prestigious fellowship in Mohs micrographic surgery, laser surgery and cosmetic dermatology at one of the nation’s premier dermatology departments, Ronald O. Perelman Department of Dermatology at New York University (NYU). NYU was the first academic institution in the country to offer fellowship training in Mohs micrographic surgery under the direction of Dr. Perry Robins. During his time at NYU, he worked with nationally recognized leaders in skin cancer surgery and cosmetics, Drs. John Carucci and Elizabeth Hale. As a fellow, he performed numerous Mohs surgeries as well as complex facial reconstructions.
Dr. Bain grew up in Fayetteville, N.C. He attended Terry Sanford Senior High School where he was valedictorian of his senior class. During his senior year of high school, he received a Morehead Scholarship, the oldest merit based scholarship in the United States, to attend the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
He graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, having earned both highest honors and highest distinction. He then went on to attend medical school on a full merit based Medical Alumni Loyalty Fund scholarship at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine.

It's a nice office and the wait time was under 15 minutes except when I got into my room I waited for 10 more minutes. My provider spoke really fast and only offered to prescribe the lowest dosage for a problem I've been struggling with for well over a year. I had class right after my appointment so I didn't ask her to slow down, but for anyone else I would note it as a necessary point of improvement.

Didn’t have my appointment even though it had been confirmed. The nurse was curt and talked about me and my son to her colleagues in a negative way after leaving the room. We sat in the exam room, waiting to be seen, for over 45mins and no one came in to check on us, nor let us know how behind they were. We will never come to that office again, nor recommend any of my friends, or family to see anyone at that practice. Only redeeming quality was front office person, who was very pleasant.

It was my first visit with Dr. Bain. He and his staff made me feel comfortable from the word "hello". He and his staff were friendly, very professional and knowledgeable. His assistant explained everything to me as she was administering the anesthetic. I would definitely recommend Dr. Bain to anyone.
His office was easy to fine; it was located on a main street. Parking was not a problem...plenty of parking in front of the building.

I recommend making a call regarding the consultation fees prior to going. I had a confirmed appointment with no given notice that there was a fee involved with this visit, even though my insurance allows a once a year skin screening, and not knowing if any growths were cancerous or not. This would've been nice to know in advance before sitting in bumper to bumper traffic to get there.

pleasant experience. I worked in an acute care setting x 35 yrs now. It's very rare to find an MD w/ good bedside manner. Dr Bain is one of them! highlyrecommended, I just hope even after >10 yrs experience he will always be the same. Continue to be caring, atentive and compassionate in dealing with his client. Everyone in the office were accomodating and nice. Thumbs up! keep up the good work??????

Overall my initial consultation appt was very good. I will be returning for treatments so may follow up with additional review. The office was fairly busy which is a good sign that Dr. Bain has a steady clientele. Everyone was professional and nice. Dr. Bain immediately gave me a diagnosis and options for treatment. He was very knowledgeable. Costs were surprisingly reasonable. I am pleased and will continue to visit Dr. Bain. He is my new dermatologist!

It was the first of the year and unfortunately my insurance was a mess, so I didnt get to see Dr. Bain, but all of the support staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Unfortunately now, he is out of network for my insurance so I wasn't able to return :(

he was fine, although he seemed like he was in a hurry. one of his front desk girls was incompetent and made me wait for 40 minutes for my appointment, simply because she couldnt verify my insurance. i saw three other people with later appointments than mine be attended before me. it was really frustrating, especially hwen i had to go up to her and basically tell her what to do (ie, "can you verify my insurance information during my appointment?" "oh ok, i will check you in now").
