In 1997, Edmund suffered a back injury while surfing, which resulted in a sciatic nerve impingement and a herniated disc. It was during his rehabilitation that he was introduced to Eastern Medicine for the first time. Acupuncture played a pivotal role in his recovery from this challenging injury.
This transformative experience ignited his passion for holistic healing, leading him to pursue a Master's Degree in acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine at the Santa Barbara College of Oriental Medicine.
With years of clinical practice of acupuncture, Edmund brings a wealth of expertise to his work. He has had the privilege of studying in more than a dozen acupuncture clinics across Osaka, Japan, where he had the opportunity to collaborate with some of the nation's foremost healthcare practitioners. Additionally, he gained valuable experience working alongside renowned Master Herbalist Dr. Henry Han at the Santa Barbara Herb Clinic.
Edmund's journey continued when he became part of the esteemed Yang Institute team. Here, he had the privilege of further refining his skills through dedicated training under the mentorship of Dr. Jingduan Yang, M.D. Today, as a valued member of Yang Institute, Edmund plays an essential role in the holistic integrative medicine approach , where acupuncture is an integral component of the comprehensive healthcare model. His commitment to healing and wellness aligns seamlessly with Yang Institute’s mission to provide the highest level of care to our patients.
