Dr. North received both his undergraduate and medical degree from the University of Kansas. He performed his residency in Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Arkansas Medical Center in Little Rock before serving two years in the United States Army as an orthopedic surgeon. He completed his hand surgery fellowship at Roosevelt Hospital in New York City then accepted a full-time teaching position in hand surgery, initially at the University of Arkansas and then at Stanford University before moving to the Pacific Northwest. Dr. North is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and has received a Certificate of Added Qualification in Hand Surgery. As the founding partner of Washington Hand Surgery in 1983, Dr. North is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery, the American Society for Surgery of the Hand, the American Medical Association, the Washington State Medical Society, and the King County Medical Society. He is also on the staff at Overlake Hospital Medical Center and Evergreen Hospital Medical Center.
