Ehsan Jazini, MD, is an orthopedic spine surgeon and member of the MedStar Orthopaedic Institute. He performs surgery at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital and Medstar Southern Maryland Hospital. He is a conscientious and compassionate surgeon who serves the communities of Northern Virginia and Southern Maryland.
His expertise is in minimally invasive and motion preserving spine surgery techniques. He focuses on cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine disorders, pediatric and adult deformity, as well as complex spine reconstructions.
He has published numerous peer-reviewed journal articles and chapters and presented at over 60 national and international meetings on topics regarding minimally invasive spine surgery, adult deformity, spine trauma, as well as cervical spine disorders. His research interests are on improving patient outcomes through perioperative patient optimization and developing less invasive surgical techniques.
He attended New York University, where he received Bachelors of Science with honors in Neuroscience. He then went onto Albert Einstein College of Medicine where he received his medical degree. Subsequently, he completed his internship and residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at University of Maryland and R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center. He then completed a combined Neurosurgery and Orthopaedic Fellowship in adult and pediatric spine surgery

Dr. Jazini’s approach with his patients is to initially utilize all conservative options and only if necessary surgical options to provide his patients with pain relief and restoration of their function.
