Dr. Tongsri is a licensed Doctor of Optometry in New York State and holds NY State Certification for Therapeutic Pharmaceutical Agents (phase 1 and 2), certification of Treatment and Management of Ocular Disease of National Board of Examiners in Optometry (Part 2 and Part 3) and certification from the National Board of Examiners in Optometry (Part 1). She received her Doctor of Optometry degree from SUNY College of Optometry, and her Bachelor of Arts in Biology from the University of Virginia.
Prior to joining Flatbush Optical, Dr. Tongsri spent four years diagnosing, treating and managing a wide variety of ocular diseases at health clinics and private vision centers throughout New York City. She also completed internships at the Brooklyn Veterans Affairs Medical, Aran Eye Associates in Miami and at SUNY College of Optometry. As a doctor for Flatbush Optical, Dr. Tongsri specializes in the treatment of ocular allergies, emergency eye care, and dry eyes. She also treats and manages glaucoma patients, and co-manages treatment of retinal pathologies, cataracts, and LASIK with local ophthalmologists.
Dr. Tongsri has a broad knowledge of vision issues, such as computer vision syndrome and all types of contact lens. Dr. Tongsri is a member of the American Optometric Association and the New York State Optometric Association. She is fluent in Thai, and has a workable knowledge of Spanish.

Even though I had an appointment for which I arrived on time for, I had to wait over 2 hours. Patients who arrived after me, and way after my scheduled appointment time were seen before me. The staff were unfriendly, and were annoyed when asked questions. Doctor was similarly unwilling to educate, instead telling me "you should have asked the staff." Simply rude. Time with her lasted less than 10 minutes. If your insurance covers glasses, they point you to a corner where those glasses are and focus on patients buying overpriced Luxottica glasses. Would not recommend, will never return.

The actually doctor was okay a bit cold. But the office atmosphere was very disturbing. The associated were rude to customers in store and on the phone. They were also gossiping about other coworkers during my exam. I will never go back I want to cancel my order threw the insurance and go see another optometrist.

Great Doctor and office except for their choices in eyeglasses, it was lacking and what they offered was pricey. Get your prescription there, ask your questions, get your contacts.

Honestly, The doctor was very sweet, but I had to wait over an hour to see her and the people who work there were very rude and disorganized. Overall my visit was over two hours. Additionally, there were trying to pull something shaddy with my contact lens exam and insurance. My insurance said otherwise.
On top the that, they canceled by Zocdoc appointment without even telling me and I had to reschedule on my own.
The doctor was nice, but I will never return to Flatbush Optical. It's definitely not worth the wait or the price.

Everyone failed to noticed that I made an appointment to see an optomologist. When I made the appointment I made it clear that I have a cyst on the left eyelid. When I got there, an eye exam for glasses was done instead, and was told that to see the optomologist I need a referral from my primary doctor.
