I am a board-certified psychiatrist with over 17 years experience and provide psychopharmacologic treatment, psychotherapy and guidance on life style modification to help improve my patients’ well-being. I offer genetic testing for optimal medication choices. I believe in treatment which takes into account the whole person with their psychological, social and spiritual issues. My primary focus are mood and anxiety disorders and ADHD but I also have an extensive experience with treating psychoses. I am an Associate Professor of Psychiatry at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and completed a fellowship at the New York Psychoanalytic Institute. I published in the fields of psychotherapy research, dementia, and seasonal affective disorders. I am also a published novelist which aids in my understanding of the creative processes and human nature.
Having lived in Moscow, Vienna and New York for many years I appreciate the beauty and relativity of all things human. I offer treatment in English, German and Russian. I am an out of network provider.

I saw Dr Bruck after appointments with several other providers had fallen through. My last provider was a British pyschiatrist and I know from experience, due to his being head psychiatrist at a busy ward, that obtaining notes from him is a lengthy process.
Dr Bruck therefore, despite the medication I required, told me that it was of no interest to her if there was a pause in medication, because "because that's how it is done here." I cannot think of the number of times, as a recent immigrant that people havebeen kind enough, when I do not have a document or my passport, or some piece of bureacracy, (also, the pharmacy she would be prescribing to has prior record of my being prescribed this medication), but they have seen that (particularly in this case) there is reason to act, they have done so.
Dr Bruck kept repeating in a monotone she would not prescribe my medication, alternating with Will you pay me - I cannot prescribe / Will you pay me / I cannot prescribe / Will you pay me. It was truly one of the more mercenary and least human experiences I have had with a psychiatric provider. I have my British psychiatrists name, email address and phone number and towards the end of the call offered them to her, but she thougth I was just talking abotu "doctors" and began to lencture on how all docotros behaved how she did. I had to tell her she had misheard me, and I was in fact merely trying to expedite the process that she said so was essential by having doctor to doctor to communication.
I said I needed my medication and that was the reason I had made the appointment on ZocDoc. ZocDoc knows this explicitly as I filled out a questionnaire prior to the appointment with ZocDoc. It may have been a consultation, but the service knows that I needed medication prescribed. Dr Bruck finished the call by saying "I will send you bill to a collection agency" and terminated. It was grim to witness this. Please do not book this doctor, and if you do, be a psychiatric patient who is never disorganized, because Dr Bruck cannot cope with them.

Dr. Elena had such a calm and peaceful way during the entire appointment. I felt very comfortable talking to her, even though its very difficult for me to open up. Just her presence in the room and the way she talks, makes you feel like her, calm and in peace.

My first impression, before even meeting Dr. Bruck was great. She recommended I send her a paragraph about myself prior to our meeting. I could tell that not only had she actually read what I sent her, but had a list of questions pertaining to what I had written.
She was very thorough and I didn't feel rushed. I really felt like we had enough time for her to understand me, get the whole picture, and make an educated evaluation.

I think Dr. Bruck is great. She was very thorough with my history and had a lot of constructive advice on how to deal with an upcoming stressor. She did not attempt to push unwanted drugs on me. I plan on seeing her again.
