Dr. Katzap is Board Certified by the American Board of Internal medicine in Internal Medicine and in the subspecialty of Rheumatology. She is a Fellow of American College of Rheumatology.
Dr. Katzap completed undergraduate studies at Pace University in New York City where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry. She went on to complete her medical education in New York College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Katzap completed her internship and residency in North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, NY. After internship and residency, she stayed at North Shore University Hospital/Long Island Jewish Hospital to complete her Rheumatology fellowship. Her research focused on the effects of curcumin-derived compounds on cartilage breakdown. Dr. Katzap co-authored several review articles and a book chapter.
Dr. Katzap is dedicated to the treatment of systemic and localized rheumatic disorders. Her main goal is to obtain disease remission and keep her patients as active and pain free as possible.
