Zoc Doc messed up big time and sent me to the wrong office location! But that was not a problem for the doctors office I was accommodated quickly to be seen at the proper location. Elena Ocher, MD, is the Executive Director of NY Migraine Associates and founder of Elena Ocher Medical PC/Universal VIP Medical Services, where she focuses professionally on the treatment of headaches and migraines, central and peripheral nervous system disorders, post-traumatic pain, degenerative disc disease and spinal pain, herniated disks, neuropathic pain, and sympathetic pain syndrome. She strongly believes in and profoundly understands the individual needs of patients facing pain disorders.
A graduate of Saint Petersburg Pavlov State Medical University (formerly Pavlov First St. Petersburg Medical Academy) as a General Surgeon, Dr. Ocher later trained in Neurosurgery. She received extensive medical experience at the Burdenko Institute of Neurosurgery and then at Queen's University Hospital, Department of Neurosurgery, in Northern Ireland. Upon arriving in New York, Dr. Ocher completed her residency in Anesthesiology at Montefiore Medical Center, Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University, followed by a fellowship in Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology at the same institution, graduating with an Award of Excellence in Cardiothoracic Anesthesia.
Dr. Ocher is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pain Management and the American Academy of Pain Management. She is a member of the Scientific Society of Neurology and Neurosurgery, the American Medical Society, the New York Society of Anesthesiologists, the American Headache Society, the American Society of Anesthesiologists, and NY Migraine Associates.
