She believes that education of patients about the importance of regular colon screenings can save a life. Ranked in the 99th percentile of colon and rectal surgeons in the performance of colonoscopies she performs more than 1000 per year along with more than 1500 per year surgeries on the colon, rectum and anus. Public awareness of the importance in differentiating between hemorrhoids and cancer in the event of rectal bleeding by screening and treatment is critical. She has published four books for the general public to identify with “ANELFIE’s” (a term she coined for the “selfie” of the anus) the diseases of the anus in color photographs. The group of four books, titled:Hemorrhoids, Anal Fissure, Anal Abscess and Fistula and Puritis Ani are a series sold on Amazon. Double Board Certified in General Surgery and Colon and Rectal Surgery. Dr McConnell trained at the Mayo Clinic Rochester Minnesota for Fellowship. She is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons FACS and a Fellow of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons FASCRS. Her colon and rectal surgery practice combines proctology, gastroenterology, surgical oncology and general surgery. Dr McConnell practices at various Valley locations and owns and directs the Arizona Outpatient Surgery Center in Phoenix and the Beardsley Outpatient Surgery Center in Glendale, which feature Saturday hours for the working teachers, doctors, nurses, social workers etc. The center offers attractive cash payment offers. Her goal is to see any patient with anal pain within 48hours.
