It's always difficult to choose a new doctor, when your Health Insurance changes. I feel like I hit a Gold Mine when I decided to go to Dr. Davis. She was very kind, caring, has been extremely helpful and made me feel very comfortable during my first appointment. I would definitely recommend her. =)

Dr. Davis, originally from Mechanicsville, Virginia, received her undergraduate degree from Virginia Tech and her medical degree from the Edward Via Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine. She did her family medicine training in Charleston, SC at the Medical University of South Carolina where she gained extensive experience in outpatient adult and pediatric medicine, urgent care, and inpatient hospital medicine including ICU care. Her medical training included a focus in women’s health where she gained additional training in well woman care, colposcopies, and contraception. Her professional interests include women’s health and cosmetics. Her personal interests include exercising and attending fitness classes, learning to cook, traveling, cheering on the Hokies during football season, and spending time with her husband, daughter and their two dogs.

I came in seeking a new primary care physician. She was nice and professional. Initially I had a good first impression. As I began to explain the regimen that my previous doctor had me on she says to me "have you ever seen a psychiatrist". That was slightly offensive because I felt judged negatively right off the bat. Then I told her yes I have had many years of therapy but that the psychiatrist told me I was doing well and I didn't need to see him anymore unless I had any problems. Then she says "well I can refer you to another one." Again, slightly offensive. My previous primary care physician moved to Lynchburg so Dr. Davis told me that maybe I should go to Lynchburg to see him. I have never ever done anything inappropriate with regard to my prescriptions but she pulled a list of all the prescriptions I had filled and then proceeded to question me about a number of the prescriptions. I felt really uncomfortable, as though she didn't trust me and I was just that "crazy drug seeking patient." I understand that it's 2014 and new prescribing laws are in place and everyone that prescribes medications needs to be very careful. I have been a RN for 21 years and I respect these laws and rules and I understand they are for everyone's safety. I was just really offended by that point. I didn't think she needed to be so obvious about thinking I had some mental deficiency and then she was incredibly obvious about thinking I was there seeking drugs. I have horrible insomnia and am looking for some relief. It would be refreshing to find a physician who doesn't jump to immediate judgment of a patient and who doesn't automatically distrust their patients. I will, most likely, contact my old doctor in Lynchburg and see him....after this I believe he is well worth the 2 hr drive. I left Dr. Davis' office in tears. I will not be back, nor will I use the prescriptions that she so kindly post dated. I would not have taken them to the pharmacy until I needed them....just more of the distrust.

Dr. Davis was a great doctor for me for my yearly physical. She is very down to earth and friendly. I feel very comfortable talking to her and felt like she really took her time and listened. Would recommend her to anyone!

Dr. Davis has been so kind & gentle with me. I was a little aprehensive to receive cosmetic injections (Botox) but she was so gentle and took the time to explain the procedure to me. Sh was on time, quick and thorough. Very pleased.

Dr. Davis took the time to listen to my complaints. Checked me over & suggested the next step if she could not fix the problem herself. She made phone calls to a specialist to help with my problem & got me into a office in that week. Love the lady.
