Dr. Mathiesen is reasonable and knowledgeable. I needed consultation for switching my birth control prescription and she seemed to know more about it than my previous doctor (I learned about Dr. Mathiesen from zocdoc after moving).
After I switch insurance, if the office takes it, I will probably see her again. Doctors taking new patients can be hard to find.

The doctor listened to all of my symptoms and did not dismiss my concerns or patronize me. She explained all the procedures clearly. She performed tests that I thought I would have to come back another time to have done, and she set up further diagnostic testing for me right away.

Dr. Mathiesen grew up in Salina, KS and completed her undergraduate and medical degrees in Kansas before moving to Wisconsin for her residency training. She and her husband are excited to return to the Kansas City area to be closer to family and friends. Dr. Mathiesen enjoys running, cooking, reading and traveling. She looks forward to providing comprehensive care for women of all ages and has special interests in contraception and minimally invasive surgery.
