My child was struggling with reading and writing which affected his all-around performance in school. Emily has been teaching him the Barton program for the past months and he is definitely improving in his overall academic abilities! She does a great job ensuring that every concept is understood, teaching it multiple times in different ways when necessary. She brings a very pleasant, positive, and safe environment to each and every session.

From the minute you meet Emily, you’ll see that she is one of those special people who just *gets* kids. She understands how they think, how they feel, and their individual personalities. She gets on their level, speaks to them with kindness and respect, and can gain their trust immediately. My son and daughter both adore her, and bonded with her right away. Emily is able to implement therapeutic techniques in ways that feel like games or conversations, and keeps the kids engaged and interested. I highly recommend Emily! You won’t regret working with her.

Since becoming a speech-language pathologist, my life-long desire for working with kids has evolved into a passion for teaching kids the necessary communication skills for them to fully participate and enjoy any environment. In the years since I graduated with my Master’s Degree from the University of South Florida, I have evaluated and treated a large variety of deficits, diagnoses, and disorders in a variety of settings, including daycares, schools, homes, and in-office. My clients continue to gain the communication skills and confidence needed to live to their fullest potential through dedicated, individualized, and client-led therapy. I truly enjoy watching clients grow into their new skills and gain confidence in the process!
