Very short wait when I arrived for my appolntment . Everyone was professional and pleasant. Vitals done promptly. A short wait for the PA who was concerned about the sound in my lungs. X-rays taken right there with no delay. PA returned promptly, explained what he saw on the X-rays while letting my wife and I also look at them. He prescribed antibiotics for the infection and asked me to return in a couple days to check on my progress. Very pleased with the treatment at this facility.

Dr. Folkens, an urgent care doctor, received two Bachelor of Science degrees from the University of Louisiana at Monroe. He completed a clinical laboratory scientist internship at Tarleton State University and graduated from medical school at Saba University School of Medicine.
Dr. Folkens served his internship and residency in family medicine at Christus Spohn Memorial Hospital in Texas and was the Chief Resident his last year. He was the resident representative for the Nueces County Medical Education Foundation as well as for the Graduate Medical Education Committee. Dr. Folkens is a member of the American Medical Association, American Academy of Family Physicians, National Association for Ambulatory Care, and the Manatee County Medical Society. He currently has privileges at Manatee Memorial.
Dr. Folkens is a Board Certified Diplomat by the American Board of Family Medicine and is licensed to practice medicine in the U.S. Virgin Islands as well as the state of Florida. He was in a group practice before becoming a contract physician with several local urgent cares.
