I am originally from Pittsburgh, PA and founded the Central Texas Pain Center in 2004 in New Braunfels, TX. Our practice now has over 15000 patients and extends to the communities of New Braunfels, San Antonio, Waco, Killeen, Seguin, and Austin. I earned my B.A. in biology from Washington and Jefferson College in 1995 and my medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in 1999. I completed a one year internship at Mercy Hospital of Pittsburgh and then completed both my anesthesiology residency and pain fellowship at Duke University.
At Central Texas Pain Center we believe that chronic pain patients respond best with the usage of an individualized and multidisciplinary approach to pain. We work closely with physical therapists, chiropractors, neurologists, and surgeons so that we can strive to achieve optimal function and wellness for all of our patients. We also have the trust of the area internists and family practitioners. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, playing golf, tournament scrabble, and travel. Additionally, I enjoy serving on several nonprofit boards especially in support of the arts. All of my strength is obtained through Christ. I look forward to helping you.

I was really hopeful because of the reviews I read on Zoc doc and the things I saw on Dr. Miller's website. While the staff was very kind and helpful, Dr. Miller spent all of 4 minutes talking "at" me and barely let me get a word in. I have been dealing with chronic pain for many years and I have tried more medications and treatments than I can count including back surgery. I feel I know my body well and what works for me. It is my belief that the patient is the biggest part of the equation in the development of a quality of life that is acceptable and can be considered living. Dr. Miller seemed to approach my treatment from the perspective that the Dr. knows what is right and the patient doesn't know anything. I would not recommend this doctor to anyone unless they simply want to be shepherded along thoughtlessly and don't care what happens to their life. On a different note, the Nurse Practitioner was excellent. She spoke with me first and was a very thoughtful and compassionate listener. It was effortless and easy to explain my history and my pain experience to her. If she had the final authority, I would definitely go back. Unfortunately, she answers to a Dr. who doesn't respect the patient and their pain experience and their knowledge of their own body. Overall, I am completely disappointed in this Dr.
