More about Dr. Erica Walters, MD
Practicing medicine for over a decade and licensed in five states, Dr. Erica Walters is board-certified in both Emergency Medicine and Aesthetic Medicine.
After graduating from the University of Michigan, her love of travel brought her to the Sackler Faculty of Medicine in Tel Aviv, Israel. She lived in Israel for five years, during which she was immersed in their cutting edge approach to medicine, and their culture of collegiality and collaboration, which is in stark contrast to the American style of medicine. Upon returning to the US, she realized during residency in New York City that there was a significant lack of knowledge regarding preventative and longevity medicine. After graduating from New York Medical College Emergency Medicine program, she began to explore alternative methods of medical care.
Determined to combine these multifaceted approaches to medicine, she went on to practice Emergency Medicine at high volume trauma centers in three states while studying Functional and Aesthetic Medicine. In 2016, she became the Medical Director of Park Avenue Skin Solutions as well as the co-founder of Tribeca Wellness Collective with Dr. Josh Trutt. Tribeca Wellness became a successful wellness and integrative medical practice in downtown Manhattan where Dr. Erica was closely mentored by Dr. Trutt. As such, she has become not only a highly trained aesthetic medicine and cosmetic dermatology physician, but also gained experience in women’s health, hormone replacement, and functional medicine. This interest in “non-traditional” medicine led her to also begin researching entheogens and their medicinal use in consciousness medicine for the last 6 years.
As 2020 unfolded, both physicians realized that not only was there dramatic imbalance in their work and personal life, but that there was a gap in accessible functional medicine that tele-medicine could fill. They left Manhattan for a more fulfilling lifestyle and Dr. Erica joined Curos Health as Medical Director to focus on their holistic approach to wellness, anti-aging and disease prevention.
Dr. Erica is a member of the American Cosmetic Cellular Medicine Association, International Association for Physicians in Aesthetic Medicine, American Academy of Anti-Aging, Age Management Medicine Group and American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine. She has also joined The American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine as faculty.
