About Dr. Erica Weinfeld
Dr. Erica Weinfeld received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Biological Basis of Behavior from the University of Pennsylvania in 1998 and her Doctor of Optometry degree from the State University of New York College of Optometry in 2002. Dr. Weinfeld was a Schnurmacher Merit Scholar recipient and a member of Beta Sigma Kappa International Honor Society. While at SUNY, she completed rotations in their Specialty Contact Lens clinic as well as the Segundo Ruiz Belvis Diagnostic and Treatment Center in the Bronx.
Dr. Weinfeld provides comprehensive eye care and is certified in the treatment and management of ocular disease. She administers all pre- and post-operative care for LASIK candidates. Dr. Weinfeld is also experienced in fitting RGP, astigmatic, multifocal, and specialty contact lenses. She is currently licensed to practice in New York and Florida. Dr. Weinfeld resides in Manhattan with her husband and boy/girl twins.

I booked an appointment but when I arrived the person at the front desk said that my appointment had been cancelled (which it hadn't been). She told me that the doctor would try to see me but that I'd have to wait. I realized that the doctor had arrived at the building at the same time I had and we rode up the same elevator. The attendant might have been covering for her, but if so honesty would have been preferred. I waited over an hour to be seen despite arriving 10 minutes early. I was fit for contacts (they charged me out of pocket despite supposedly taking my insurance) and told that they'd call me back in a few weeks to schedule an adjustment, but I never heard back. I was given a few days of temporary contact samples and sent on my way.

I was actually recommending my coworker to go there because it’s near our job and they have glasses selection as well as doctors but I ended up telling him to not go there because the wait is too long. My appt was at 12 and by 1, I still wasn’t seen. I had to leave without being seen since I had to return back to work. I’m only allotted one hour for my lunch break. Very disappointed.

Doctor was good, but the lab in charge of putting lenses in glasses is horrible. Was delayed beyond the 7-10 day window for pickup with minimal contact from the office and minimal outreach to help me get my glasses back. Will not be going back due to the lab's incompetency and poor communication.

Reception desk is not professional. I have waited for an hour to wait for my appointment (yes even I scheduled). And the office is small that people have to wait without any social distance. The doctor is nice. But she touched my eyes with bare hands (I saw her touching keyboard, desk, drawers before she touched my eyes).

I had a good experience with the doctor, but not with the office. I used to see another doctor here and previously had a great experience, but I won't be coming back.
The staff was unable to outline how my benefits impacted the price of contacts and glasses-- I followed up multiple times and never got the clear outline of the breakdown.
I got new lenses but wanted them in my old frames, and the office broke my frames when trying to put my new lenses in the old frames. Rather than calling me to ask what I wanted to do, they put the expensive lenses I paid for in frames I did not like. And when I asked for my prescription to go elsewhere, the contact prescription was wrong (did not match what I've been wearing). Everyone was perfectly nice, I just don't have time or patience to have so many points of friction for something that should be easy.

Their Office took the frame that i bought from them before and send to lab to put a new lenses. The lab broke my frame. They wanted me to buy a new frame, even though their lab broke the frame that i paid already. Not reimbursing me for my frame or giving me a free frame.

Quick painless appointment, but doctor was not very personable. She never asked how I was doing, or anything about myself. I was a bit surprised by this given this was my first visit with her. She was “all business” and a bit awkward at times.

I feel like I didn't have the best experience with Dr. Weinfeld based on the other reviews I have read. Everyone can have an 'off day'. I'm sure I didn't get us off to the right start as I started by telling her that I waited close to an hour. Knowing that I was in a rush due to the long wait, she kept it quick. I will give her another chance, but I think the staff in reception require training in bedside manner as when I asked what was taking so long they replied that they checked me in on time and efficiently. I needed to take this up with the doctor.

Dr. Weinfeld was good. The receptionist was quite rude and unpleasant. I had to pay additional fees for uncovered services that I did not want, and I had to pay for them upfront.

I arrived early for my appointment but was seen right away. It was a pleasant visit and in all of my years of going to eye doctors I have never been offered to see pictures of my eyes. That was a wonderful bonus to more fully understand my eye health.
