He is a nationally distinguished researcher in the field of H. pylori for which he has published extensively and presented at major national conferences. He serves as a peer reviewer to several academic medical journals. Dr. Argueta completed extensive training from the University of Tokyo and National Cancer Center in Japan in screening and treatment of gastric cancer, endoscopic mucosal resection of large polyps and early detection of colon cancer. In addition, he has expertise in Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) having been selected to have exclusive training by the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation at the University of North Carolina, one of the nation’s leading and largest multidisciplinary centers for IBD. He completed both his GI fellowship and Internal Medicine Residency at Brown University. He received his medical degree from Stony Brook University School of Medicine in New York and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Biochemistry from Connecticut College. Dr. Argueta was born in Guatemala and raised in Providence, Rhode Island. He is a native Spanish speaker and fully committed to providing the highest quality of patient care. He is dedicated, hard-working, and attentive to detail. He aims to understand and thoroughly communicate with his patients and referring physicians.
