Getting to know Erik Lee

Erik is a UCSF-trained, board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP) and an ADHD Certified Clinical Services Provider. His clinical background spans early psychosis, crisis services, and inpatient dual-diagnosis programs — experience that shaped his reputation as a precise, compassionate diagnostician. He entered private practice in 2017 to make thoughtful, high-quality psychiatric care more accessible. That vision grew into Celium Healthcare in 2021, now serving clients in Portland, San Francisco, and San Diego. Today, Erik provides personalized, concierge-level psychiatric care with a focus on clarity, comfort, and collaboration. Erik completed his PMHNP training and residency at UCSF’s Langley Porter Psychiatric Institute, graduating summa cum laude. He also holds a Master of Science in Nursing from Samuel Merritt University, where he has served as adjunct faculty. Before becoming a PMHNP, he worked as a psychiatric RN in emergency, inpatient, and forensic units at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and the San Francisco VA Medical Center. His continuing education includes training through the Institute of Functional Medicine, the Neuroscience Education Institute, the American Psychiatric Association, and the Integrative Psychiatry Institute. In 2023, he completed IPI’s year-long Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy Certification.

What should a new client know about working with you?

IMPORTANT: A $195 no-show fee applies to all missed appointments. IMPORTANT: Insurance ID number MUST be provided at booking; if eligibility cannot be verified, the appointment will be cancelled. I provide diagnostic evaluations and medication management for ADHD, depression, anxiety, PTSD, and related conditions. My style is collaborative and practical, with thoughtful prescribing and brief therapeutic guidance. Care is primarily via telemedicine, with occasional in-person visits in Tigard or NE Portland. Before scheduling, please review celiumhealthcare.com/schedule. New clients must be 18 or older, voluntarily scheduling for themselves, and seeking medication management. OHP and Medicare are not covered. A valid credit card is required, and consent forms must be signed within 24 hours (consent.celium.health). Benzodiazepines are not prescribed for daily use, and I do not provide crisis care.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

After you complete the initial screening, the diagnostic process usually takes one to two visits. These first sessions are about 45 minutes; follow-ups are 20 minutes. Early visits may be closer together to clarify the diagnosis, and later spaced out to every one to three months once treatment is stable. Sessions focus on diagnostic evaluation, medication management, and brief therapeutic guidance; I don’t offer talk therapy alone. I take a thorough, root-cause approach and may recommend labs or a sleep study when appropriate. Diagnostic work continues over time as we learn more together. Before the first appointment, you’ll complete an in-depth questionnaire (about an hour). ADHD evaluations include an additional optional questionnaire that can reduce the number of visits.

You would be lucky to have this guy as a person to help you navigate through the process of mental health care. Truly cares and will listen attentively. I’m so grateful to have found him as my primary mental health provider

After years of frustrating experiences with mental health providers who rushed appointments, made me feel anonymous, and pushed medications without explanation, finding Erik Lee was life-changing. Erik listens attentively, remembers our discussions, and genuinely cares about my progress. Unlike others who dismissed my medication concerns, Erik takes my experiences seriously and adjusts treatment accordingly. While past providers seemed uncomfortable discussing trauma, Erik creates a safe space that's helped me address long-standing issues. His collaborative approach means I'm finally an active participant in my treatment rather than just following orders. The convenience of video appointments eliminates the anxiety I used to feel in waiting rooms, and Erik is just as engaged and present online as others were in person—often more so. If you've been disappointed by mental health care before, Erik Lee will restore your faith in the profession.
Erik Lee, PMHNP, is hands down the best psychiatric provider I’ve ever worked with. After years of seeing various psychiatrists and nurse practitioners, no one has come close to his level of clinical excellence and genuine care. He truly listened and developed a treatment plan that has completely changed how I manage my ADHD. I trust him so deeply, I’d refer my closest friends and family without hesitation. He’s a rare gem in mental health care.
I feel very safe with Erik. Taking medication can be scary so having someone I trust, who is very knowledgeable/kind, is incredibly important to me. He is always very responsive and takes extra steps to make sure I’m comfortable. I wold recommend Erik to anyone!
