It was my first surgery and I was a bit nervous. He was super patient and the surgery went exceptionally well. If I had to do it again, I would absolutely take the trip to Miami as he is no longer in NYC.

This is the 3rd appointment with Dr. Vulcano. He is an EXCELLENT doctor. I learned that he is moving to Miami, so I will no longer see him. I will MISS HIM! Hopefully, my feet will remain healthy, so I won't have to see foot doctors! But, we need healthy feet to walk the streets of NYC! So.... He did recommend another doctor! THANK YOU! All the best to you in Miami!

Ettore Vulcano is a dedicated and concerned foot and ankle specialist based in New York, NY. Dr. Vulcano earned his medical degree from the Università Campus Bio-Medico di Roma Facoltà di Medicina e Chirurgia and completed his residency in orthopedic and trauma surgery at the Università degli Studi dell'Insubria in Italy. He then moved to the United States to complete his fellowship in foot and ankle surgery at Mercy Medical Center, Baltimore, Institute for Foot and Ankle Reconstruction. He also completed another fellowship in limb lengthening and complex reconstruction at Hospital for Special Surgery.
Dr. Vulcano is a part of Mount Sinai West Department of Orthopedics and is affiliated with Mount Sinai West in NY. He is a member of the Italian Society of Orthopaedics and Traumatology and the Italian Society of Ankle and Foot (SICP). He is certified in advanced cardiovascular life support and basic life support by the American Heart Association.

He also explained what I could expect in terms of recovery after the surgery. I have great trust in his abilities as a physician and am going to schedule my surgery with him. Dr Vulcano is very good. He took time with me and answered all my questions. He prescribed me medication to take for 3 months before I would come back for a follow up appointment. At the end of that three month period, however, I got a call from his office that he stopped taking my insurance. Even though I needed a followup, the only option was to go out of pocket. Not happy with this service.
