He finished his surgical internship at Charity Hospital, also in New Orleans and completed his Head and Neck Surgery residency in 1987 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa.
He received his certification in 1987 and is a diplomat of the American Board of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery.
