Dr. Eugenia (Jeannie) Marcus is an experienced pediatrician board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. She has been in practice in the Newton Wellesley community for 40 years taking care of multiple generations of patients. She is a past president the Massachusetts Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Charles District of the Massachusetts Medical Society. She served for many years on the advisory board of the Newton Board of Health. She is an advocate for children through her medical organizations and the local political organizations. She is currently in practice in association with Newton Pediatrics who provide the twenty-four/seven coverage that is so important in a pediatric practice. In terms of examining and being thorough, I was quite satisfied. However, this is pediatrics, and given her long years of experience, I felt she would know how to interact with different types of children better. Mine just turned 4, and it is the age (at least for my daughter) where she is incredibly self-aware, learning about privacy, etc., and Dr. Marcus made my daughter (and myself) rather uncomfortable. Rather "commanding" than cooperative, I would say.
We were going to change her pediatrician just because we moved closer to the area, but my daughter did not like the experience at all, and does not want to go back... Although my pediatrician from childhood, who is still in the area, does not accept my healthcare, I think I will just go to her instead.

The visit with Dr. Eugenia Marcus is always great. Our family have been with Dr. Marcus for over 13 years. Our visit with her is always on time and she takes her time examining my kids during our visits. She follow up with emails and phone calls if she is not able to be reach in her office.

I was extremely pleased and impressed. Dr. Marcus had taken the time to review my son's extensive file, ask pertinent questions and offer advice on preventative measures that we should follow up on. She understood my son's disabilities and offered accommodations and alternatives that would make it possible to follow through on her recommendations. She's always been extremely knowledgeable and invaluable in successfully managing my son's care and making referrals to specialists of the highest caliber. I travel an hour to her office, and consider it well worth the time and distance.

Dr. Marcus is very caring and friendly. Her bedside manner is wonderful with children, and she really puts them at ease. She is very thorough when it comes to explaining issues and going over treatments. If I ever have follow-up questions she is always prompt in responding by email.
