Eugenio L. Menendez D.O., F.A.C.P. is a board certified doctor by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He graduated with honors from Florida International University with a Bachelors in Biology. At Florida International University, he was a scholar of the Minority Biomedical Research Program doing research on human macular pigments and age-related macular degeneration.
After university, he did research in leukotriene inhibitors for asthma at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, FL.
He then attended medical school at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine where he graduated with Honors. In medical school he completed a community health internship with the Bridging the Gaps program where he provided HIV-AIDS education to minority women. He continued his commitment to public health by becoming a National Health Service Corps Scholar.
After medical school, Dr. Menendez completed his internship at Frankford Hospitals in Philadelphia and his internal medicine residency at the University of South Florida.
Following the completion of his training, Dr. Menendez began his medical career in public health as an internal medicine physician at the Jackson Memorial Hospitals and Clinics where he developed a congestive heart failure clinic. He wrote a book for a subject close to his heart named the People’s Diet. He then practiced in North Miami Beach and Ft. Lauderdale before starting his own internal medicine practice in Pompano Beach.
Dr. Menendez is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. Fellows in ACP are a group of doctors who are dedicated to continuing education in medical practice, teaching, or research. Fellowship is an honorary designation given to recognize ongoing individual service and contributions to the practice of medicine.
