Everything about Dr. Greenbaum such as his diagnostic manner, personability & and communicative skill were all really good. Hopefully, next time I visit he will not use Sir, but my given name. Aside from this choice of salutation, I was very happy with all his treatment.

I was seen quickly. Despite my forms being incomplete on ZocDoc (not sure what happened and couldn’t edit them), the office staff was patient and printed them out for me. Dr. Greenbaum listened to my concerns and quickly deduced that more information was needed. I wanted to rule out sleep apnea and he referred me for a sleep study saying more than likely I didn’t have it. However, I appreciated how he wanted to collect more data and get info from my PCP! Would recommend!

Evan S. Greenbaum, MD, is a board-certified otolaryngologist with expertise in treating disorders of the ear, nose, and throat (ENT). Dr. Greenbaum’s philosophy of care is to do the right thing, at the right time, for the right reason. He treats each patient as he would a family member, with compassion and honesty.
Dr. Greenbaum’s special interests include endocrine surgery, salivary surgery, head and neck cancer, cutaneous cancer of the head and neck, breathing disorders, nasal obstruction, and voice changes. At Weiss Memorial Hospital, he provides outpatient surgery and clinic-based procedures focused on improving breathing and alleviating nasal obstruction.
Dr. Greenbaum earned his medical degree from Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine, Maywood, IL, and completed his residency at Loyola University Medical Center, Chicago, IL. He went on to complete a fellowship in head and neck surgical oncology and microvascular reconstruction at Case Western Reserve University/University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center. Additionally, Dr. Greenbaum serves as an assistant professor, Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, Chicago, IL and oversees residents at John H. Stroger Hospital of Cook County.
He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the American Head and Neck Society and Chicago Laryngological and Otological Society. Published numerous times in scientific journals, Dr. Greenbaum’s research focuses on improving care and clinical outcomes.

Most painful non-surgical visit ever. Manipulated the endo-scope on my right nostril and throat in a terribly uncomfortable, pain inducing manner for like 4 seconds. Had to yell out loud for a stoppage. Oy veh.

I do not recommend this doctor. I noted the primary reason for my visit when booking. The doctor was unaware of this and admitted he had no knowledge of the procedure itself. Staff later said they do not share visit reasons with the doctor beforehand, something I find quite perplexing. The doctor also lacked good bedside manner. He had poor listening skills. He was stuck on the idea that I had learned about the procedure through TikTok. This procedure has been around for over 20 years. He mentioned that a recent patient asked about the same topic. I clarified that my knowledge did not come from TikTok, as I don’t even have an account, or any other social media. Yet, he brought up this idea of TikTok again later in the appointment. When discussing another topic, he used excessive jargon when I asked follow up questions, which made it difficult to understand his recommendations. Overall, the experience was frustrating.

I have had some really negative experiences with ENTs in the past (including one that said, and I quote, "It's just stress sweetie") But this was NOT the case with Dr. Greenbaum.
He got right to the point and asked a lot of specific questions to get a fuller understanding of what was going on. He explained a procedure that we did in-office and explained what was happening using both the medical terms (so I'd know what the visit notes were saying) AND using clear common language. The course of treatment we ultimately decided on was pretty simple and involved mostly habit-building, but he said "but you came all the way here and I owe you more than that." He gave me his contact information, asked me to make an appointment if the symptoms came up, and asked for a follow-up to re-evaluate treatment. I cannot overstate the importance of hearing that statement from here.
I've been to this location in the past and had okay experiences, but I'd absolutely come back just to see him.

I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Greenbaum. I had a pretty alarming week with multiple visits to the ER/Urgent care due to some dizziness, vision problems, ear problems, head pressure etc. It was hard to get answers from anyone on what exactly what was going on and why. After a CT, MRI and Spinal Tap, I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Greenbaum. He was the most thoughtful, proactive doctor I've ever worked with. He took the time to listen to all my symptoms & what had happened the last week and then *thoroughly* explain what he thought was going on (which ended up being good news). He was deeply helpful and kind - I can't emphasize how much I recommend him after talking to about 13 doctors in the last week. He made sure my follow up would be easy to accomplish as I would be leaving Illinois for awhile and reassured me we would figure out a solution. I will be recommending him to anyone with ear, nose or throat issues in Chicago!

Dr. Greenbaum is awesome! I went to see him because I thought I had post-nasal drip, which I'd been dealing with for a long time. He carefully examined my ears, nose, and throat and asked detailed questions about my symptoms. Surprisingly, he ruled out post-nasal drip and explained that my symptoms were actually more consistent with acid reflux. He suggested I try to avoid certain foods and take an anti acid to manage it. I'm so relieved to finally have an accurate diagnosis and to stop spending money on nasal sprays and allergy pills that weren't addressing the real issue. I highly recommend Dr. Greenbaum to anyone experiencing similar issues. He's a great listener and a skilled diagnostician!

Dr Greenbaum put a stent in my ear to help get the ear drops to my right ear. He taught me how to put the ear drops in my ears. The problem is that
my insurance won't let me have any more ear drops because my previous provider didn't teach me how to apply them. The office won't respond to my messages in a timely manner to tell me that they found a different prescription medication to assign me.

Dr. Greenbaum was wonderful! He listened to everything I had to say, asked good questions, gave really thorough explanations, and just generally spent a lot of time with me so I didn't feel rushed at all like you can feel with some doctors. We unfortunately didn't get to the bottom of my problem, but I'll be going back to him in about a month or so once I've gotten a hearing test done. It was my first time seeing him so I was a little nervous, but he was great!
The nurse who did my intake was also lovely. She was very kind and spoke very highly of Dr. Greenbaum.
I had to wait kind of a while after I saw her before the hearing room opened up, but that's the only negative thing I can say, and that's not really in anyone's control.
Can't recommend him enough!
