Dr. Abbasi is Medical Director and founder of New Jersey Pain, Spine and Sports Associates. He has dedicated his career to provide people relief from various forms of acute and chronic pain syndromes. Dr. Abbasi treats people with different types of problems including but not limited to carpal tunnel syndrome, neck pain, back pain, sciatica, joint pain, spinal pain, musculoskeletal injuries, disk herniation and radiculopathy, arthritis, myofascial pain and sports injuries. Dr. Abbasi uses the most comprehensive approach and interventional pain management techniques to treat many problems without surgery. He uses the latest diagnostic tests to make pin point diagnosis of the problem. His advanced interventional techniques will decrease the reliance on medications alone. Dr. Abbasi performs special diagnostic procedures such as Diagnostic Nerve Blocks, Discograms, Fluoroscopy and Electro Diagnostic Testing like NCV/EMG.
Dr. Abbasi is Board Certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and fellowship trained in interventional pain management. He began his distinguished career in Internal Medicine in Nassau County Medical Center. From there he moved on to do a Residency at the prestigious New York Presbyterian Hospital in the field of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He completed his pain fellowship training at the Portner Orthopedic Rehabilitation Center in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Returning to New York, Dr. Abbasi worked in the department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation as an attending physician in charge of the Southside Hospital Spine Center. Since moving to New Jersey in 2006, he has opened his own practice and is Director of The New Jersey Pain, Spine & Sports Associates of North Brunswick.
