Frances Cohen Praver, PhD, is a nationally known clinical psychologist, psychoanalyst, and author of *The New Science of Love: How Understanding Your Brain?s Wiring Can Rekindle Your Relationship* (Sourcebook, Casablanca, 2011), *Daring Wives: Insight into Women?s Desires for Extramarital Affairs* (Praeger, 2006), and *Crossroads at Midlife: Your Aging Parents, Your Emotions, and Your Self* (Praeger, 2002).
Dr. Cohen Praver has treated patients for twenty years and maintained a private practice since 1996. An expert in how childhood experiences affect adult love relationships, she works in the ?here and now? to explore how past experiences and culture color relationships with loved ones, friends, and oneself. She specializes in impaired relationships, depression, anxiety, behavior problems, personality issues, infidelity, and posttraumatic stress, working with adults, children, adolescents, and couples.
She has published numerous scholarly articles on aging, infidelity, childhood trauma, and sexual abuse and has co-authored and contributed to several books on psychology and health issues.
A sought-after public speaker at medical and psychology conferences nationwide, Dr. Cohen Praver is at ease with all audiences. She has appeared on *Good Morning America*, WNBC *The Today Show*, New York 1, WLIW *Act 11*, and WABV TV, and been interviewed by major U.S. radio stations. She has been quoted in the Long Island section of *The New York Times*, *USA Today*, WebMD, *Oprah*, and *The Chicago Tribune*.
Dr. Cohen Praver earned her Bachelor of Arts from Long Island University, her PhD in Clinical Psychology from St. John?s University, and completed a postdoctoral degree in Psychoanalysis and Intensive Psychotherapy at Adelphi University. Her affiliations include the American Psychological Association and the Adelphi Society for Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy.

I had an appt with Dr Praver that was booked a few days before on docdoc. She left a message that was very off putting saying she didn’t do cbd. That it! Nothing about our appt. I contacted her and asked her if we still had an appointment scheduled for the next day and never heard back from her.

I was able to talk with her about an hour after the missed appointment. She lied and said that she'd called me earlier when I brought up the fact the appointment was missed. I asked her 'when?'. She kept trying to change the subject but there was only one subject to speak of. She kept trying to get me to send her money. There was no video appointment. I wonder why I am surprised.
