I was raised in Palo Alto, and attended Green Gables (now Duveneck) Elementary School, Jordan Jr. High School, and Palo Alto Sr. High School.
I earned my Bachelor degree from Yale College in 1989, and my Doctor of Medicine degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine and Public Health in 1998. In 2002, I completed my Family Medicine residency training at UCLA’s community-medicine program at Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center, where I received the Community Medicine award as the senior resident whose work best represented the broad spectrum of Family Medicine. I earned Board Certification in Family Medicine in 2002.
In 2008, as a primary care provider at the Palo Alto Medical Foundation, I was awarded Clinical Recognition from the National Committee for Quality Assurance, and was named as one of America’s Top Family Doctors by the Consumers’ Research Council of America.

Dr. Chancellor is one of the most down-to-earth physicians I've ever met. When I arrived to my first appointment, I was the first of the day, and I found him sweeping the waiting room himself. I don't think I've ever encountered another doctor with that kind of humility. His bedside manner is commensurate; he's extraordinarily empathetic and makes a tremendous effort to address his patients' subjective experience as well as their symptoms.

I was very pleased with my visit today with Dr Chancellor. I was in the market for a good primary care doctor and I have my heart set on this man. He takes time with you and really listens. I've just recently started seeing Dr, Frederick and he's been a huge blessing to have as a doctor. He took the time to reach out to me via phone several times outside of working hours to make sure I was doing ok when I was not feeling well. I've had many doctors and by far, doctor Frederick is the only doctor who's ever done such a great thing. This proves he does not just care about money, he cares 100% for his patients. To this day its been 1 month since I've been seeing him as my doctor and I must say, I couldn't be any happier.
I recommend doctor Frederick to anyone who wants a doctor who actually cares and spends time with his patients to figure out the root cause of their problem.

My visit with Dr. Chancellor was professional but relaxed as well. I never felt rushed like I usually do in doctors' offices. He had great bedside manner that made me feel very open to express all my concerns. He was thorough with his examination & his explanations of my problem.
At the end of his examination, he recommended a chiropractor who he visits himself. I was quite surprised when he called their office up himself & had asked to squeeze me in that day since I lived quite a drive away.
By far, the best experience I had with a doctor.

I met with Dr. Chancellor recently for the first time, and I can honestly say it was the best experience I've ever had with a doctor.
I originally scheduled a 1PM appointment, on a Friday afternoon. Unfortunately, a work related meeting went over, and I was forced to reschedule. The rest of his day was booked, so I requested his next available appointment (as my issue was rather time sensitive). Without me asking, Dr. Chancellor offered to stay late, and delay his weekend, to meet me after his last patient; all so I could address my issue that day.
When I arrived, I found the office to be comfortable and modern. Dr. Chancellor was just finishing up with his last patient, and by the time I was done finishing the standard paperwork, he was ready for me.
Dr. Chancellor is extremely personable, understanding and caring. I tend to ask A LOT of questions, and it was clear that he knew a tremendous amount about my issue; he even offered to teach me about some of the cutting edge developments in the space.
As a physician taking on a new patient, it would be tough to leave a better first impression then the one I got from Dr. Chancellor. If you want a caring, easy going, highly intelligent doctor who loves what he does – see my doctor, Dr. Frederick Marland Chancellor
