Dr. Stephen Igel is a Clearwater OB GYN with a reputation for treating his patients with genuine care and respect. For over thirty years, Dr. Igel has developed strong patient care procedures in his private practice. He takes care to guide visitors through their treatment process, and he is happy to answer all questions.
In an effort to contribute to care at other institutions, Dr. Igel holds a variety of other leadership positions. This includes positions at HCA/Largo Medical Center as Chief of Staff, Chairman on the Credential Committee, and on the Board of Trustees. In his commitment to making treatment as effective and comfortable as possible, Dr. Igel has held such policy-shaping offices as Chairman of the OB-GYN Department at BayCare Mease Countryside Hospital, a role he relished for six years. Dr. Igel’s passion for medicine also includes teaching. He is currently a Clinical Instructor at Nova Southeastern College of Medicine in Davie, Florida.
Dr. Igel earned his MD at the Universidad Autonoma de Madrid in Spain, and he went on to finish his residency at St. Luke’s - Roosevelt Hospital Center in Obstetrics and Gynecology. In his spare time, Dr. Igel stays involved in professional associations, including American Medical Association and Pinellas County Medical Association. He is proud to welcome patients from a variety of backgrounds, as he is fluent in English, Spanish, German, Hebrew, and Polish.
