Gabriel G. Lazcano, MD, is a highly experienced anterior segment surgeon with more than 13 years of experience in South Florida. He specializes in no-stitch cataract surgery and refractive surgery. He is Alcon WaveLight® and VISX Star4certified LASIK surgeon.
Dr. Lazcano completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Miami. He received his doctorate in medicine from Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, La. Following an internship in internal medicine, Dr. Lazcano completed his residency in ophthalmology at the Alton Ochsner Medical Foundation in New Orleans.

The staff was nice, the doctors were nice and knowledgeable but the wait was very long. Two hours and 15 minutes for only a simple eye exam, no prescription, no contacts or glasses and no vision problems. I would go back again if it weren’t for that wait.

It’s been a while since I’ve been to an eye doctor so maybe all are like this now, but I was struck by the volume of people being seen at this office. For reference, I went on a Tuesday at 10am and the waiting room was full. The office was efficient given the number of people in the waiting room. I was seen by 3 different medical professionals before being seen by the doctor with whom I booked. The experience had an assembly line feel, but everyone was pleasant and nice. I was surprised that I had to complete paper forms for all of the info that I had already submitted digitally through ZocDoc. My time with Dr. Lazaro was short but he seemed knowledgable and had a good bedside manner. I arrived at the office at 9:45 and was completely finished by 11:45. Overall, it was a fine experience, just not what I’m used to.

The fact that they take you in at the time of your appointment for an initial check with the nurses does not take away from the almost FULL HOUR that I had to wait to be seen by the doctor. Very disappointed.
