I first brought my son to see Dr. Carson about a month ago after a psychiatrist recommended her. My son has responded very well to Dr. Carson's treatment & the sessions have been extremely productive. I don't know what we'd do without her help. She has been available to my family both in person and by phone whenever needed and even visit my son's school. I know with her my son will continue to improve.

Hello! I am a licensed clinical psychologist providing individual, group, and family therapy as well as evaluations, consultations, and school observations for children, adolescents, and adults. I work to listen empathically to clients to help them in gaining clarity and direction in addressing a variety of life transitions and concerns. I use a cognitive-behavioral approach drawing on interventions with proven success based on research, and actively collaborate with clients to set goals, build skills, and address issues directly. My areas of expertise include child and adolescent treatment, treatment of young adults, anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, and parenting support including addressing disruptive behaviors.
Dr. Carson earned her BA at Wesleyan University and her MA and PhD at St. John's University. She completed her clinical internship and postdoctoral training at North-Shore Long Island Jewish Medical Center (now Northwell Health).
Dr. Carson is currently the Clinical Director of the Crisis Clinic in Bellevue Hospital's Children's Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program (CCPEP) and is an Assistant Clinical Professor at the NYU School of Medicine.

Dr. Carson was excellent. I have been seeing her for a couple of months now and I have made great progress with her help. She is extremely attentive and knowledgeable. I have seen other therapist before, and am glad I found Dr. Carson because she has been the best by far. I highly recommend.
