I loved Dr. Fishberg! Really patient and walked me through all the science. You can also tell he genuinely loves optometry. Definitely the best optometrist I've seen and despite not being super close to where I live I'll certainly return in the fufure!

More about Dr. Gary Fishberg, OD
Dr. Fishberg graduated from Adelphi University in 1972. He went on to Pennsylvania College of Optometry where he obtained both a BS and OD degrees. While attending PCO he took a pediatric rotation and can examine children as young as one year of age. He developed an interest in specialty contact lenses while practicing in New Haven, Connecticut. In Connecticut he collaborated as an investigator for the first extended wear soft lenses approved in the United States. In addition, he wrote and lectured locally before moving to California in 1979.
Dr Fishberg opened his Norwalk practice in May 1980, followed by his Riverside office in 1982 and the Santa Ana location in 1983. He appeared in the AOA sponsored film "Your Vision, Your Life". Currently he practices in all three locations with a specialty interest in contact lenses. Each office can accommodate wheelchair patients
and has ample parking.
The offices accept all types of insurance and are open everyday with late night and Saturday appointments available. Dr. Fishberg and his associates speak Spanish. Call to set up an appointment in a location that is nearest to you.

Ive typically gone to costco for my exams but afrer my last appontment i left feeling like maybe i should try somewhere else. Dr Fishberg was recommended by a friend who gave him a try and absolutely lOVED him! And i absolutelt loved him too! My little one got his glasses and I'll be switching to him myself. I've had glasses most of my life and never had a doc share so much knowledge and explain everything before. it was a great experience.

Dr. Gary Fishberg is very good at explaining what he is doing and why, about eye health, what goes on in the industry, and what is best for your eyes. He is very kind, thorough, and willing to answer any questions. I have seen him for the last couple of years, and will continue seeing him. The person running the office is very personable and helpful, but seems to not be an optometrist, so she may not know all the information necessary in fitting glasses for you. If you are new to wearing glasses, and don't know all that you need to know to fit glasses properly, best to get that knowledge from an optometrist.

It was my first time seeing this doctor and as soon as I walked in, I was greeted by the lady at the front desk. I did my paperwork and she took me back to do a few tests. Right after I was taken into a separate room to wait for the doctor. He did a very thorough eye exam, probably the best I’ve had, and he was chatty and friendly throughout the procedure. Afterwards, Rayleen helped me pick out some glasses and the lens upgrades. Overall, everyone I interacted with was really nice and helpful. Will definitely be coming back here for all my glasses.

He explains what is happening with the eye and why he recommends a certain product. Very personable staff who are very skilled in sorting through insurance etc, two who also speak fluent Spanish if you prefer.
Experienced Doctor who will get you through a proper exam quickly.
The shop is full of frames that fit within most insurance budgets, not necessarily the latest expensive fashions.
If you are a big fan of your own frames they know if they can put your new prescriptions in and are very helpful.

Dr. Fishberg was amazing! He was very friendly and a great listener, I immediately felt comfortable. This was my first eye exam and he explained everything and answered all of my questions. I will definitely be back for further eye care.
The women in the front were also very kind and helped get me set up with my my new glasses :)

My wife and I have both been patients of Dr. Fishberg for many years. We would never see another eye doctor! Dr. Fishberg is the best. His office staff are helpful and friendly. Dr. Fishberg has an awesome personality and he sure knows his craft. As I said, we would never consider another eye doctor. They also have plans for patients without insurance so that is never a problem when it comes to making an appointment. Dr. Fishberg is truly a Blessing to us. We would (and have) recommended his to family and friends.

The older doctor (his first name is David, but I don’t know his last name) is incredibly interesting and fun to talk to. He took his time with me and even asked to see my sunglasses to make sure they provided good UV protection. I think he has superpowers based on all the stories he told me about his life.
