Dr. Gary Matson is a board certified family practice physician in the Pacific Beach area of San Diego (PRACTICE LIMITED TO PERSONS AGE 15 AND OLDER).
Dr. Matson is a doctor of osteopathic medicine or D.O. A D.O. is a complete, fully licensed physician who has all the training and practice rights as an M.D. but with additional training in musculoskeletal issues.
As a family physician, Dr. Matson treats most common medical conditions such as sinus infections, acne, depression, headaches, intestinal issues, sports injuries, diabetes, hypertension, and basic gynecology including Pap smears.
Dr. Matson's office is run like an old-fashioned family doctor's office. When you make an appointment you will always see Dr. Matson. You will not see a different physician each visit or be seen by a physician's assistant or other "physician-extender" as you might in a big clinic.
Dr. Matson has a small staff: Jannette is our office supervisor and receptionist. Evelyn is our medical assistant. We also have an excellent licensed acupuncturist, Erika Novak, LAc.
