Dr.George Mamo is a board certified urologist and has been practicing urology since 1992. He graduated from St. Joseph's University in Philadelphia with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He completed his medical training at Thomas Jefferson University, School of Medicine in Philadelphia. Subsequent to his graduation from medical school, he specialized in general surgery and urology at the University of Maryland Hospital in Baltimore. He had extensive training in all aspects of urology including prostate and bladder cancer surgery, urinary incontinence, kidney stone disease, male elective sterilization (vasectomy), erectile dysfunction, prostate enlargement as well as many other urologic conditions.
Throughout his career, Dr. Mamo has participated in clinical research and has also presented data and abstracts on various topics at urology conferences. In addition, he has written multiple articles that have been published in urologic journals.
Dr. George Mamo is a board certified Urologist with specialized training in female urology, urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse. He has directed urinary incontinence programs at Mercy, St. Agnes and Harbor Hospitals in Baltimore. He has performed over 4000 urinary incontinence operations in his career. He is nationally renowned for pioneering surgical techniques for treatment of urinary incontinence including “Interstim” for treatment of urge urinary incontinence, and the “Single Incision Sling” procedure for treatment of stress urinary incontinence. He has trained numerous urologists and gynecologists, both locally and nationally, in various surgical techniques in the treatment of urinary incontinence, voiding dysfunction and vaginal prolapse.
