Dr. George Mascioli, the Owner and President of M&L Optical, is a licensed doctor of optometry and has been in private practice for 31 years. Dr. Mascioli has extensive experience in the treatment of ocular allergies, dry eye, and specializes in contact lens fittings, including Toric, Rigid Gas Permeable and Bifocal contact lenses. He also regularly treats and manages glaucoma patients, and co-manages treatment of retinal pathologies and cataract. Dr. Mascioli has long-standing relationships with a vast network of specialists when surgical intervention is needed. His practice is equipped an auto-refractor and state-of-the-art digital fundus camera as well as an on-site lab complete with a Santinelli Paternless Edger to provide patients with one hour service. This combination unique combination provides patients with one hour service and is considered the best and most comprehensive service within the Queens community. Dr. Mascioli served as the Vice President of the New York Optometric Council prior to the council’s merge with AOA. He is also an active member of the Police Surgeons Benevolence Association. Dr. Mascioli serves as a consultant to various doctors and networks within the community and is currently working to develop new software for Electronic Medical Records for optometrists nationwide. He is highly sought-after as an expert in the field and was also featured on Channel 12 News alongside corneal specialists in a live discussion on the topic.

First optometrist in a long time who treated me as an individual and made sure my glasses were properly measured in all aspects (I had no idea my pupillary distance needed to be taken into account for frames). He accidentally accurately diagnosed me with diabetes I had no clue about (confirmed with my primary), so thanks so much for that too!! It was actually probably lifesaving to find that out when I did.

Rambles on a lot. Doesn't really listen to you, talks over you. One good thing though, he works fast. Not sure if he's effective. All I needed was a prescription and my eyes checked out so I can purchase glasses from Warby Parker.

I was happy with everything at M&L. I upgraded to a Gucci frame instead of the ones my insurance cover and they said i could get a discount or a free pair through the insurance so i got an extra pair. i wear them all the time and they change the look of my face, they were good about helping me pick a nice frame that suited me.

I will never go back because they lied to me saying my insurance does not cover glasses even though I had my insurance on the phone telling me what they did and did not cover. They were trying to nickle and dime me for a pair of glasses and they are not a professional office.
I do not recommend this office.

Appointment was for 10:00am... Stood around waiting until the Dr. rolled in to work around 10:20... Didn't actually see him until 11am. Not sure what the point of making an appointment was. I also remember having an issue with a sales clerk running my credit card for the wrong amount and having to authorize it twice (temporarily limiting my available credit). It's been a year and I should have given this feedback sooner.
Other than those issues - The Dr. was nice, the appointment was fine and the lenses were shipped quickly.

He tries to suggest you things that aren't in your insurance budget,as well as says if you have Fidelis Insurance its cheap. And if you don't have contacts from him he doesn't make a new prescription for them.
