Dr. Kivett was born in Coral Gables. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Florida. Following graduation, he entered the U.S. Naval Flight Program in Pensacola and earned his Wings of Gold. After six years of active service, he returned to the University of Florida and received his Bachelor of Science in chemistry and biology with honors.
He continued his naval career in the Naval reserve as a pilot and later as a medical officer, reaching the rank of captain.
Dr. Kivett received his medical degree from the University of Florida, College of Medicine. He completed his three-year residency in Family Practice at the Naval Regional Medical Center in Jacksonville.
Dr. Kivett is a standing member of the American Academy of Family Practice. Dr. Kivett has also been appointed Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Family Medicine, by the American Board of Family Medicine.

Every time I see the doctor I go in with a bad cold I come out with no meds. So I pay Co pay for you to tell me go get something over the counter? Very unsatisfied
