Dr. Gerard Nat is a Board-Certified Dermatologist, practicing cosmetic, surgical and general dermatology. He treats patients of all ages. He was born in New Jersey, and graduated Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Vassar College in 1981. He completed medical school training at SUNY in Buffalo, New York, his Internship at UC San Diego in Internal Medicine, and his Residency at UCLA School of Medicine in dermatology.
Dr. Nat became Board-Certified in 1989 and has extensive training in cosmetic and dermatological surgery. From 1989 to 2000, he was the dermatologist for Gallatin Medical Group in Downey. In 2001, he opened his private dermatology practice, also in Downey, with a focus on cosmetic, laser and surgical dermatology. Dr. Nat has published research articles and presented lectures and papers internationally on a variety of dermatological issues.

I was very pleased by the visit. Everything was fast and went smoothly. I felt cared for and was confident in his ability to diagnose and deal with a couple moles. He communicated clearly and listened well. Talked me through the procedure and I was on my way. Nurses and the receptionist were very kind and professional. Very thankful for this visit!

I needed to have a large suspicious mole removed and I was very nervous. Dr. Nat was very friendly and reassuring. He told me exactly what to expect and it was over quickly and with very little discomfort. The office staff was also lovely and made sure I understood the after-care instructions. I feel they took the time to address my concerns and treated me in a way that made me feel comfortable and confident in their care.

I wasn't happy with the fact I had to fill paperwork out that had already been submitted through ZocDoc. When I mentioned the redundancy to the front desk person, although polite, wasn't willing to consider the option. The nurse that brought me into the room was not personable, and I felt the initial contact with the front desk person was a precursor for the rest of the appointment. I arrived on time at 9:30, didn't get into a room until 9:52, was seen and out the door by 10 am. It didn't give much time to build rapport with the doctor, nor did he seem too concerned with trying to. The nurse was in the room the entire time which also made me uncomfortable. I understand it is for malpractice reasons, but again, did not feel comfortable with the staff as a whole.
