She graduated from Florida Atlantic University with a Master of Science in Nursing and from Florida International University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Ms. Castro began her nursing career in 2006 as a Registered Nurse at Northwest Medical Center on the Maternity unit before becoming a nurse practitioner at Dr. DeSouza’s office in 2012.
Beyond her professional work, Gissell enjoys staying active with yoga and CrossFit workouts. As a true South Floridian, she also treasures time on the beach, paddleboarding or riding her bicycle along the boardwalk with friends and family.
Her passion has always been in women’s health, as she values how this specialty allows her to build meaningful relationships with patients while providing safe, evidence-based medical care.
