Dr. Gnana Sumathi R. Naini is an internist who has been serving the North Texas area since 1990. Her current practice is at the Medical and Wellness Center of Murphy, in Murphy, Texas. Dr. Naini graduated from Osmania Medical College in Hyderabad, India, in 1977. She completed her internship at Interfaith Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York, and went on to complete her residency in internal medicine at Coney Island Hospital, also in Brooklyn. Dr. Naini holds dual certifications from the American Board of Internal Medicine -- one in internal medicine and one in geriatric medicine.
Strongly committed to medical education, Dr. Naini precepts younger medical students. She believes patient education is vitally important to increase awareness of diseases and to help patients self-manage their health. To ensure her patients have options for care, she is affiliated with Methodist Hospital, Methodist Richardson Medical Center, and Texas Health Presbyterian Allen. She is an active community volunteer and serves as the medical director of a local nursing home. In addition to English, Dr. Naini speaks Hindi and Telugu.
