More about Dr. Gregory Caronis, MD
Dr Caronis' greatest areas of interest are foot and ankle problems, fractures, worker's compensation injuries and general orthopaedics. In addition to completing a rigorous orthopaedic surgery residency, he received subspecialty training in the area of reconstructive surgery for complex foot and ankle problems. These challenges can include arthritis, deformities, chronic pain, diabetic foot deformities, flat feet, bunions, and neuromas. He cares for children's foot problems, including club feet and intoeing. He also cares for many sports related foot and ankle problems including heel pain, ankle instability, sprains, and tendon injuries using the most modern techniques, including ankle arthroscopy. Dr. Caronis has a great interest in total ankle replacement, and recently completed training in using the new InBone total ankle replacement.
Another great interest of Dr. Caronis' is the treatment of fractures. He is often able to treat many of these without surgery, when he uses various casts or braces. When necessary he is able to repair fractures using the most current surgical techniques and methods, using plates, rods, screws, external fixators, and bone stimulators.
Dr Caronis enjoys performing arthroscopic procedures of the knee on a frequent basis.

First of all, I like ALL the physician assistants at Greenleaf Ortho. ALL OF THEM! Both Dr. Bare's and Dr. Caronis' assistant. I feel very comfortable talking with them. With both the PA and Doctor Caronis, my questions were answered. I received a short term and long term solution to my problem. My vacation was taken into account and treatment coordinated with it. I did not feel rushed at the visit. Dr. Caronis draws artwork explaining any issues and when he does that, it's much better than looking at the ortho pictures on the wall. Yes, I have no issues recommending Dr. Caronis

What is so special about Dr. Caronis is he explained the situation to my husband and me AND to our son. Our son told us that Dr. Caronis explained to him everything that he needed to know. He was was always comfortable with everyone in the office.
We were a bit nervous that we didn't get to go pick our Dr. but we could not be happier with the care our son received AND it was super convenient.

Dr. Caronis is the nicest doctor I've ever had any contact with. He is my 99 yr-old mother's surgeon and every time we have had an appointment he has been very kind and considerate. He takes the time to answer any questions and is very patient. Even repeating things when she doesn't understand or has a hard time hearing. My office experience was not that good. I waited over one hour and 15 minutes to be seen with no explanation. When I approached the receptionist she didn't even apologize for the wait. I don't believe there should ever be more than a 30 minute wait for an MD appointment. if the wait is longer, the office staff should offer apologies and explanations. They should also make sure the patients are comfortable,

I want to say the delay in getting in right away was due to the paper work I needed to fill out because I was a new patient. Any questions I had were answered and shortly after submitting the forms I was seen. I left feeling relieved and with a plan of action.

Dr. Caronis is great. Very personable and professional. Takes time to listen and answer questions. However, the support staff at Greenleaf Orthopaedics is my reason for not recommending them and choosing not to use their services should I need them in the future. Upon arrival you are immediately confronted with any remaining account balance and simply telling them it will be paid does not suffice. They make it akwardly uncomfortable in continuing to ask when and how you will be paying. Also makes it embarrassing when other patients are in the area waiting. In fact they are asking about balances I have not even received a statement for as of yet. Seems they are more concerned about getting paid rather than the patient. I understand the importance of them wanting balances take care of but the manner in which they approach it is unprofessional. Again Dr. Caronis is great however I will be looking elsewhere in the future.

Dr. Caronis repaired my achilles rupture about three years ago and I am back to full power now. He has provided excellent care for me on a few other occasions as well. I'd especially like to point out his superb communication. With some physicians, I always felt like cattle: get em' in, and move 'em out! In contrast, Doc Caronis takes the time to sincerely listen, he patiently answers questions and clearly explains his diagnosis. I would highly recommend Dr. Caronis.

Great as usual. They had me back in a room in no time and were quick to complete needed tasks. I waited just a very short time before Dr. Caronis arrived. That wait was caused by him reviewing x-rays. Upon entering the room he shook my hand and he showed me the x-rays. He sat facing me and spoke directly to me then pointed out things on the x-ray. He continues to demonstrate a caring attitude by listening and answering questions fully, knowledge of my issues, and requested I contact him if any issues should arise.
