My visit today was on time. Very professional, but also very friendly and pleasant making it a pleasure. Dr. Cohen has such a wonderful personality his visits make you forget your troubles. I was so terrified when I first came as I thought I might loose my eye sight but he explained and put me at ease and operated and now I am 20/20 I can never, never thank him enough. May god bless him forever.

Our chief refractive surgeon, G. Richard Cohen MD, is an internationally recognized; board certified ophthalmologist and diplomat of the American Board of Ophthalmology. He is a fellowship trained corneal specialist and is among an elite group of ophthalmologists in South Florida who specialize in diseases, surgery of the cornea, and laser vision correction.
Furthering his reputation as a pioneering LASIK surgeon, Dr. G. Richard Cohen developed and trademarked two new laser vision correction procedures: B-LASER™ and Phasik™. In addition, his private practice in Boca Raton was the first in the state of Florida to perform the extraordinary LASEK procedure, first LASIK surgeon to own a permanent excimer laser in South Florida and was among the first ophthalmologists in the United States to perform CK® (Conductive Keratoplasty). Most recent, Dr. Cohen is pleased to offer patients in Palm Beach, Broward and Miami Dade counties the new LipiFlow® thermal pulsation treatment.
After graduating with honors from the University Of Virginia School Of Medicine, Dr. Cohen completed his postdoctoral training in Cornea and External Disease at Tufts-New England Medical Center and Cornea Research at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Cohen currently is a research investigator for a variety of ocular diseases and has published his findings in numerous medical journals. He has also served as Chairman of the Department of Surgery at the West Boca Medical Center.
