I am Haley Mejias, a board-certified Physician Assistant through the NCCPA. I grew up in Palatine, Illinois. I come from a family of medical providers, my father is a dentist and my mother is a nurse.
I completed my undergraduate schooling at University of Illinois at Chicago with a major in Biology. I then went on to obtain my Masters degree in Physician Assistant studies at Midwestern University in Downers Grove, Illinois. I moved to Arizona in 2018 after completing her masters degree with her then fiancée to escape the cold and snow.
I have been practicing in Family medicine since 2018. I enjoy seeing patients of all ages and helping with preventative health and treating chronic conditions. Outside of work I enjoy reading and walking my beloved dog with my husband and baby boy.

This clinic has an affiliation where medical students perform the majority tasks. This wasn't clear to me on zocdoc. I spent time finding a provider I thought would be a good fit for my needs, including speaking to a female provider. A male student spoke with me 95% of the time. This caused me some distress, nothing against him.
Once the provider came into the room I felt belittled and intense judgments for why I was there. After speaking AT me she asked "Is that it?" I had not said more than 3 words.
I believe that the "game of telephone" that the students and providers play does not create an open environment or one that supports patience being their own advocate.
The real issue I had was when the girl at the front desk threatened to take my referral away. I had paid and asked to see an itemized list of charges, it could not be provided and this was concerning to me. When I pressed to understand she threatened me I became upset. I can't be ethical to threaten patients?

It's obvious that Haley Mejias knows what she's doing and that she cares about her patients, I've had nothing but great experiences at this clinic :) The front staff is also very friendly and efficient!

Mary was wonderful! Her and her team got me in asap, they listened to my concerns and worked through a plan of care WITH me rather than FOR me which I loved. The student NP was so amazing and personable, easy to talk to, and so friendly. I’ve seen several of the providers over the years at the Gilbert Location (or through their telemedicine appointments) and while they are all different, the consistency and quality of care I receive has seemed to hold rock steady. Every provider I have met genuinely listened to me. They have asked thoughtful, non-boilerplate follow up questions that make you feel confident in whatever the final treatment plan may be. Haley has been whom I’ve had the opportunity to see the most recently, and she brings those qualities and more every time.

All my experiences at Primary Care Walk In have been EXCELLENT ( few years now) Hailey and her staff have been phenomenal in assisting with some Acute issues and set forth excellent plans of care accommodating, excellent communicators, extremely knowledgeable oh I can’t forget to mention I’m a 52 year old female and no matter what The reasons have been fir my appointments I’ve never ever ever felt uncomfortable words can’t describe mI HIGHLY recommend this office for ALL your primary care needs!! My first visit to the office was to be seen for urgent care, I was so incredibly pleased with my provide that I made her my PCP. Haley truly wanted to help. She is by far the best and so unbelievably caring. She is very knowledgeable and made me feel comfortable and taken care of. I will follow her if she were to ever move to another office. All of the staff are amazing ! I can’t say enough great things. Very thankful I found them!
