Due to a recent illness, I have visited MANY doctors in the Saint Louis are and I found my experience with Dr. Serota the best. My appointment was on Monday and by Friday he had completed a thorough evaluation of my heart. He is curious and wants to help the patient as much as he can.

Harvey Serota was born in Jersey City, New Jersey. He graduated from The Johns Hopkins University of Medicine. He served his internship and residency at Duke University. He served his cardiology fellowship at Washington University. Dr. Serota also extended his cardiology fellowship at St. Louis University for extensive interventional cardiology for one year.
Dr. Serota has served as the Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine, Division of Cardiology, at St. Louis University Medical Center since January 1991. Dr. Serota also serves as the instructor in Clinical Medicine in the Department of Medicine at Washington University of Medicine, a position he has held since July 2008.
Dr. Serota is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease and Interventional Cardiology. His special interests include interventional cardiology, specifically PTCA and intracoronary stent placement. Dr. Serota is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and Society for Cardiac Angiography and Interventions.

While his medical credentials are excellent and he was very personable, this whole medical process was also very confusing. Following my appointment, I was originally not set up with a patient portal account, until I contacted them about it. Setting up the prescriptions with their service was difficult and I preferred CVS so I switched it there. While I was contacted for some test results by phone, others I still months later was not contacted about, aside from being able to see the data in the online portal with no medical comments. My name is misspelled there as well and the medical insurance is mis-entered which caused issues with LabCorp (which I reserve the possibility of my own mistake on SLHV’s tablet check in system but that would still contradict my insurance card and my Zocdoc appointment). Anyways, that’s a summary of a lot of my process, take it as you will.
