Visit was very professional and everything I was looking for to switch doctors. My doctor quit taking my insurance so I had to change. I did my research and made the appointment with Dr Patel to see if she would be my new primary care doctor and I believe I have found a great match. She took all the time needed to explain everything about my conditions and what needed to be changed from my current treatment to a new type of treaqtment more closely needed to my current needs. This was only the first visit but liked what I saw and will continue to see Dr Patel.

After graduating Magna Cum Laude with a Degree in Biochemisty and Molecular Biology at the University of Maryland Honors College, Dr. Patel completed her Doctorate of Medicine with Honors at St. Georges University School of Medicine. She then pursued and completed her residency training at Lenox Hill Hospital (NYU Affiliate) in New York. In her final year of Residency, Dr. Patel completed and was awarded the "Hazelton Award"—Training in Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Screening, Intervention, and Treatment. In addition, during undergraduate, medical school, and residency training, she collaborated her efforts and published numerous articles and abstracts detailing her research from prestigious institutions including NIH (National Institute of Health in Bethesda, Maryland).
Upon residency graduation, Dr. Patel relocated to Houston, Texas and began a solo practice in Downtown Houston at Christus St. Joseph Hospital. During her five years of practice there, she also maintained a part-time faculty position working closely with medical residents in training. She was awarded multiple awards including "Academic Attending of the Year Award" at Christus St. Joseph Hospital. She was also awarded many awards for her private practice including "Houston Magazine Top Doctors Award" and "Houston Magazine Top Professionals Award" two years consecutively.
Dr. Patel is currently Director of Medicine at Christus St. Catherine Hospital and a member of the Medical Executive Committee. She currently holds a position on the Board of Houston Metropolitan Health Network. Finally, she is also highly involved in the Ethics Committee and Performance Improvement Council (PIC) at Christus.

I loved Dr. Patel! She answered every single question I had (I had a long list) and she never made me feel rushed. Her staff is so nice too! Dr. Patel also went beyond answering my questions and gave me advice on how to go about certain situations. If you are doing the whole Amarillo 3 months supply thing (if you are military) her staff is great with this too. Overall I am so glad I found her!
