I am Dr. Hermona (she/her), a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. I obtained my Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from the University of Washington. My clinical experiences include community mental health, inpatient psychiatry, and outpatient mental health. Prior to becoming a nurse practitioner, I worked as a registered nurse at Northwest Hospital and Valley Medical Center.
My goal is to provide personalized, evidence-based, and collaborative care. I approach each client’s care holistically by understanding the biological, psychological, and social contributors to their concerns. It is important to me to understand mental health challenges and goals in the context of cultural and family background. I strive to develop a genuine therapeutic relationship with each client based on a foundation of empathy and understanding. I bring my whole self to each visit.
I provide psychiatric diagnostic intake evaluation and medication management with brief psychotherapy for individuals (18+) I do not see clients for psychotherapy only and encourage you to have an outside therapist.
My certifications include Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, and Strategies to Facilitate Smoking Cessation. Away from work, I enjoy spending time with my toddler and family. I love to travel!
