Hunter Wessells, M.D., is president of UW Physicians, a board-certified physician at the Urology Clinic at Harborview and the Men's Health Clinic at UWMC-Roosevelt, UW's chair of Urology, a UW professor of Urology, and an adjunct professor of Surgery.
Dr. Wessells strives to provide state-of-the-art care for complex urogenital disorders.
He earned his Doctor of Medicine at Georgetown University, completed residencies in Surgery and Urology at the University of Pennsylvania, and a fellowship in Urologic Trauma & Reconstruction at the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Wessells has published more than 75 journal articles and book chapters, is the recipient of numerous teaching awards, and lectures internationally. He serves as a permanent member of the National Institutes of Health, is a member of the Advisory Committee for Urology of the American College of Surgeons, and has served on the WHO International Consultations on Erectile and Sexual Dysfunction. A medicine developed by Dr. Wessells and collaborators at the University of Arizona is currently in clinical trials for the treatment of erectile dysfunction.
