Iram Nawaz, MD, FCCP, focuses on respiratory illnesses encompass chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, lung infections, interstitial lung disease, pulmonary fibrosis and tobacco abuse. A Fellow of the College of Chest Physicians and a board-certified pulmonologist, she began practicing medicine in 2006 and currently sees patients ages 18 and over at Saint Joseph Medical Group – Pulmonology & Critical Care Medicine.
Dr. Nawaz practices evidence-based medicine, and her approach to care involves patients in decision-making, “actively listening and answering questions to their satisfaction,” she said. She expresses human kindness by taking a holistic approach, listening to patients’ concerns and showing compassion.
She was inspired to become a physician—and to choose pulmonology as a specialty—by her desire to help patients “and try to minimize their miseries, impacting their lives in a positive way,” she said.
In her time away from work, Dr. Nawaz enjoys traveling and listening to music.
