Iren was AMAZING!! Very personable, talked me through everything she did & explained how it would help ease my pain.
I have horrendous anxiety, & issues with agoraphobia; Iren made me feel very safe, and definitely eased my anxiety.
The entire experience was just very calming and soothing.

Short biography
Iren Shemelyak is a Licensed Acupuncturist (L.Ac.) in the state of New York. She holds a Master’s degree in Traditional Oriental Medicine from the Pacific College of Health and Science (formerly Pacific College of Oriental Medicine).
Certification
In addition, she is a nationally board-certified Diplomate in Oriental Medicine (Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine) with the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).
Studies
Iren received additional advanced training at the Fukushin Clinic of Traditional Chinese Medicine, where she focused her studies on acupuncture, tui na, and herbal treatments for weight management and related diseases.
She has completed Acupuncture levels 1, 2, and 3 with Dr. Tan, as well as continuing education seminars on trigger point acupuncture treatment and kinesiology therapy. She specializes in treating neurological conditions such as pain, headaches, Parkinson’s disease, neuropathy, post-stroke treatment, and Bell’s palsy. She also treats many neuromuscular and autoimmune conditions.
Career
Her entire career has been spent working within the healthcare system. Her knowledge of Western science and medicine, coupled with training in Traditional Chinese Medicine, allows her to clearly see the strengths and weaknesses of both systems.
She believes that patients benefit from the optimal use of both Western and Eastern traditions, and when used together, the patient is the true beneficiary.

Iren has done wonders for me! I was able to avoid painful cortisone shots for shoulder and hand injuries and have long lasting resolutions to those issues thanks to Accupuncture. My allergies have been in control since I began allergy treatment over 2 years ago. I no longer take pills to keep them at bay and no longer dread allergy season.

Iren is a great doctor, very knowledgeable and highly skilled. She has excellent bedside manner and the office space is very clean and professional. I have been her patient for many years and can’t have enough good things to say about Iren. She treated me several times and every time I was back to “normal” in no time. I would wholeheartedly recommend Iren Shemelyak.
