Irene M. Nicolaides MS,RD,CDN,RDN is a New York based registered dietitian/nutritionist with 20+ years experience, who is on a mission to win the war on obesity, diabetes and cardiovascular disease. Ms. Nicolaides provides private one-on-one and group nutrition consultations to clients who are interested in improving /achieving their personal health, eating habits & lifestyle along with fitness goals. She also provides nutrition coaching to doctors, dietetic students, parents, schools, personal trainers, and athletes.
Irene graduated with a Bachelor and Master degree of Science in clinical dietetics and completed her dietetic residency at Staten Island University Hospital and the Mount Sinai Medical Center. She has gained her clinical experience from working as an in-patient and out-patient clinical dietitian in various New York based hospitals. She was also involved in a 5 year government-funded scientific research on obesity and diabetes where the findings were published in medical journals such as the "journal of nutrition", "Diabetes" "obesity research"

I have always know me as a "fat" person. My weight has always been a battle and every time i dieted, i ended up with binge eating and unhealthy food choices.
Dr. Irene was my wake up call, my "AHA moment. She is genius! I've been to her a few times and my life has changed. I lost 35lbs (goal is to lose 60lbs), my eating habits have improved, my sleeping pattern has improved, my mood has improved not to mention my stomach issues vanished!!!
She explains everything and in detail and she makes sure you leave her room without question marks!
She is excellent at what she does, excellent nutritionist, excellent health/life coach. Wait time?I once confirmed an appointment and forgot to call to cancel but they were super nice and understanding. I totally understand as well, wait time is justified. She is DA NUTRITIONISTA!!!

Dr. Nicolaides is an amazing nutritionalist. I’ve had 3 visits up to now and I’ve lost 11 pounds in 3 weeks. She is a great motivator and her stories are inspiring, and extremely funny!!! She has a great sense of humor. Her diets are easy to follow and I enjoy every single visit with her. Excellent and detailed nutritional advice!!!
I haven’t waiting long for the appointment. Wait time is average 15-20 mins.
DEFINITELY RECOMMENDED FOR PEOPLE WHO TRULY WANT TO CHANGE!!

She is always behind schedule and once you go in she tends to ramble on about details of her life rather than speaking about what you should / shouldn’t eat. I’ve come for a few visits and each time it’s the same thing. An excessive amount of time in the waiting room and then an hour in her office for a small amount of guidance.

I waited 2 hours, without apologies from any staff. I would not recommend this nutritionist unless you have the whole day off work to be in the office waiting. I went for a consultation and left without any information nor the consulter asking any questions about my lifestyle or diet.

i finally found a nutritionist/ dietitian that actually cares for her patients. Ms. Nicolaides took her time to explain to me what foods i need to be eating and which ones to avoid. Ms. Nicolaides gave me a meal based on food i like and it has helped a lot. Words can not describe how happy and healthy i am becoming. Ms. Nicolaides has really help me. She knows her stuff. Many may complain about her wait time...but she is worth the wait. I rather have someone take their time to make sure I understand what I am doing.. This is my health we are talking about and I only have one life so I have to take care of it.

Irene helped me like no one else to prepare for my surgery. She is very knowledgeable professional who listens to you and treats you with respect. She sorted out everything for me. Very patient, Very loyal, explaining everything so I understand. She answers all of my questions and make me feel safe. Very experienced. Wait time is average no more than an hour and I have been going her for almost a year. My results are great. I am off my insulin pump and i learned how to eat. ? I trust her... I highly recommend her!!!

Loved this appointment. Irene is extremely professional and will answer all your questions. Do not expect to lose weight in an instant, she makes it clear that the weight loss and maintaining that weight is extremely important. I would recommend her to anyone.

One of the worst Drs I have ever been to. The receptionist was the nicest part of my visit. The dr was not understanding, or caring. She had an agenda to make a few bucks. I left in the middle of my appointment after waiting almost 2 hours. She was rude and would not let me get a word in. This is not a dr I would ever return to.

I have been suffering from an eating disorder for many years and she gave me the pro's and con's of eating healthy. Her recommended diets are easy to follow and foods I like eating. You can tell this is not her job this is her life.

After having a baby it was very hard for me to loss all the baby weight I gain until I met with Ms. Nicolaides. I tried other diets but they didn't work. Ms. Nicolaides explained what foods I needed to avoid. Ms. Nicolaides gave me food plans with food I already enjoyed eating and were very easy to make and follow. And thank god, Ms. Nicolaides doesn't give out any pills!! I don'y like taking diet pills, they don't work for me. Ms. Nicolaides is very supportive and is always there if I have any questions. I m almost at my weight goals. I know if i need any help with my weight, Ms. Nicolaides is there to help me. Thank you!!
