Dr. James Bennett is an orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist serving patients in Sugar Land and the greater area of Houston, Texas. He completed his General Surgery internship and Orthopedic Surgery residency at the Baylor College of Medicine, and then attended UHZ Sports Medicine Institute for his fellowship in Sports Medicine. He’s certified in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
Dr. Bennett is specially trained on arthroscopic and minimally invasive techniques of the shoulder, elbow, knee and wrist, as well as cartilage repair restoration. He performs procedures such as elbow ligament repair and reconstruction, elbow arthroscopy, Tommy John procedure and Achilles tendon repair.
The practice also specializes in the treatment of sports injuries to the knee, shoulder and elbow, as well as fracture fixation of the upper and lower extremities, De Quervain's Tendonitis, and fractures and dislocations of the hand and wrist.
When he’s not treating patients, you can find Dr. Bennett on the slopes practicing skiing and snowboarding, and in the summertime he likes to do some running and fishing – mostly with his kids who he loves spending time with. Doing his part for the community, he’s the team physician consultant in the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, and volunteers at Shriner Hospital for Children.

Dr Bennett took the time to sit and explain to me my MRI and radiologist report. A good sign of a good surgeon is one that is prepared. Don't be fooled by other doctors that don't take the time to look at your MRI let alone to review it with you. I feel very comfortable with Dr Bennett performing my surgery.

Unfortunately this is a reflection of zoc doc and dr.Bennett's office. I had an appointment at 3 and I wasn't seen until 4:18. Why? Because my information from zoc doc was not sent to the office for an appointment that was scheduled several weeks in advanced. I had to re fill out all the paper work, then I had to wait no one was apologetic towards to wait I had to endure.

Dr Bennett asked several questions and then examined my knee. There are so many places a knee can have injury but he was able to find the exact location and zero in on the problem quickly. We then discussed my options. Happy w the doc. His front office staff...not the best but it's the doc that's most important.
