Dr. Jackson Lau obtained his Doctor of Optometry and Bachelors degree in Molecular and Cell Biology from the University of California, Berkeley. His internships were completed at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Puget Sound, Marin Community Health Clinic, and Alameda County Medical Center. Dr. Lau then completed a post-graduate residency in Cornea and Contact lenses at the Illinois Eye Institute where he served as clinical faculty, conducted research on dry eyes and scleral contact lenses, and lectured on topics of corneal disease, myopia control and specialty contact lenses. He has extensive experience working with leading corneal specialists at the Illinois Eye Institute and the University of Chicago Department of Ophthalmology. Dr. Lau has earned distinction as a Fellow of the Scleral Lens Education Society (FSLS), having managed hundreds of patients with keratoconus, corneal transplants, and severe dry eyes. He is currently pursuing his Fellowship of the American Academy of Optometry and is a member of the American Academy of Orthokeratology and Myopia Control. Dr. Lau is excited to join SVEP as he seeks to dedicate his practice to corneal disease and advanced myopia control techniques using computer-generated orthokeratology lenses, custom soft multifocal lenses, and atropine treatment. Outside of practice, Dr. Lau enjoys hiking, camping, basketball, snowboarding, and cooking.
