Dr. Taha is a neurosurgeon who specializes in the minimal invasive surgical treatment of neck and lower back pain. He received his neurosurgical training at University of Cincinnati Medical Center and spent his fellowship at Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland Oregon. Dr. Taha treated complex spine disorders in Cincinnati when he joined Mayfield Clinic in the mid 90s and thereafter left for Dayton in 2003 where he successfully launched and mastered minimal invasive spine surgery as well as complex scoliosis and deformity surgery at Kettering Medical Center. Dr. Taha is nationally and internationally recognized for his expertise in a wide variety of surgical procedures for spine disorders ranging from the most simple to the most complicated pathology, mostly treated with a wide variety of minimal invasive techniques including band-aid and laparoscopic surgery. Dr. Taha is highly respected by his peers and his expertise is sought to teach techniques around the country. He is frequently visited by spine surgeons from the U.S. and abroad to watch his surgeries.
Trying to avoid surgery whenever possible, Dr. Taha says, “I encourage patients to strengthen their core through exercise or taking part in physical therapy to help stabilize the spine and hopefully prevent either the progression of arthritis or future disk problems.”
